ABOUT US
I have been involved in the roading industry since the early 1970s where I operated machinery for WW Contracting (my father) building roads in Otago. I have over 40 years of experience working for Fulton Hogan which includes working on sealing crews in Otago during University Breaks, setting up and operating and managing a bitumen emulsion manufacturing plant, managing the Industries Division in Canterbury, managing the Surfacing, Industries and Engineering Divisions in Waikato and then almost 20 years as the National Surfacing Engineer based in Christchurch.
I have experience in roading dating back to the 1970s including road building, asset management, treatment selection, materials manufacture, materials design, chip seal construction, chip seal design, hot mix asphalt design, hot mix asphalt manufacture, hot mix asphalt laying, materials testing, ISO 9000 auditing, safety auditing, and research and innovation into road surfacing materials, application techniques, machinery development.
